These are the funding deadlines for many of Oxford's pro-rata funding bodies. For more information on how to apply for funding, see How to ... secure funding.
These deadlines will be updated from time to time as the OUDS Committee receives new information. All deadlines are subject to change at any time and the OUDS Committee accepts no responsibility for incorrect or out of date information.
OUDS are inviting funding applications for shows that have slots in Michaelmas term, at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival over the summer, or Playhouse shows in Hilary term.
Applications should be no longer than six A4 pages (except in the case of Playhouse shows where there is no limit) and should consist of a synopsis of the play, biogs and statements from key crew members (director, producer, marketing manager, designer, production manager) and a detailed budget - please note that any material over this limit will not be read.
The deadline for all shows is 5 PM on SUNDAY OF 8th WEEK - interviews will take place on FRIDAY of 8th WEEK. Two hard copies should be submitted to Rachael Williams at St John's college, and one copy e-mailed to . We realise that this may be your first time bidding for a theatre or applying for funding, so for help with your bids or applications, e-mail
To apply for underwriting please email the Drama Officer for an application form and information on award criteria. Forms should be returned to the Burton Taylor Studio in HARD COPY, together with a budget and short statements from each member of the production team, explaining how their area of the production will fufill the Board's criteria. Applications should not exceed 7 pages, including the form. Deadline is 5pm, Wednesday of 8th Week.
If awarded, underwiting may be claimed in the event of the production making a loss to cover any debts that a student may become personally liable for up to a MAXIMUM of the award sum (eg: £100). This same sum may also be taken out as an up-front loan to help with cash flow prior to production. This loan is then returned if the production makes a profit and is not pro-rata.
You may also apply to the Cameron Mackintosh Drama Fund for grants to help with projects that are particularly technically ambitious (especially aiming to help musical productions). The form is the same but please ensure that the Producer's Statement includes a paragraph on why you think the production deserves a grant and what you would be using it for.
Any questions, please email .
