The New Writing Festival is a chance to see your play realised on an Oxford stage by some of the most accomplished actors and directors in Oxford.
This year OUDS will be organising the 11th New writing Festival, a competition for budding young script writers which has had a number of success stories: following the NWF 2002, Tom Green of 5th Week, and the four scripts nominated to be directed by Oxford students and professionally judged will be announced at the OUDS Revue Night on Monday 26th November.
All submissions should be under 90 minutes long, double spaced and sent in electronic form to:
One hard copy should also be posted to the OUDS pigeon hole at the Burton Taylor Theatre.

Key Information
Shows must be under 90 minutes long. As a (very) rough guideline this is around 60 sides, double spaced.
There can be as many as eight characters.
Double spaced with page numbers, lightly bound if at all possible.
A title page with your name and college, but your name must not appear on any other part of the play!
Please include the title as a header on every page.
Adaptations are allowed, but bear in mind that direct transcriptions of books will not be highly regarded!
Only theatre scripts!
Plays must not have had a previous professional production.
Only those eligible to join OUDS may submit scripts - i.e. you must be a student at the university.
We won't be able to return the scripts so please don't send an original copy.
